To date there are many different numbers of insurance companies on the market that offer various different types of insurance products and one of these companies is called Friends Provident. This company offers not only life cover, but critical illness insurance, pensions and investments and income protection cover. They offer cover for people within the United Kingdom and the main office for them is based within London. Originally Friends Provident was founded by a family of Friendly Quakers. Joseph Rowntree and Samuel Turke were the first people to discover the company in 1832 and it originated in Bradford where it first became open to members of the Quakers. In 2001 the company was made open to the public. By this I mean that they were no longer just open to business from the Quaker and hold no religious followings so anyone can take out an insurance policy.

In 1854 Friends Provident decided upon calling itself a mutual life assurance company. Until 1983 the company always had a minimum amount of 5 Quakers that were always on their director’s board. Currently they have no religious followings there which therefore enables them to seek members for their board team who are qualified for the position and not just a member of the Quakers. Although this company has been up and running for some considerable amount of time, it did not start being listed on the London Stock Exchange until the year 2001. Friends Provident is very conscious of its client’s financial statues and affairs; this can only benefit the customers of the company as they care about their interests. The most recent change around of official executives was in 2008. The company decided to offer the Chief Executive position of the company to a gentleman called Trevor Matthews.

Friends Provident is renowned for its long historical basis of offering and showing ethical values within their every day business regime to both their existing and new business customers. They do this within the products that they offer to their customers which could be products such as life insurance, pensions, investments and critical insurance.
